Renters Rights Act workshop set for later this month

A council is hosting a workshop for landlords and tenants to help them understand the Renters Rights Act, which comes into effect on May 1.

The event will take place on April 28, between 12pm and 2pm, where attendees will be able to learn more about the changes and ask questions directly to representatives from DASH (Decent and Safe Homes) East Midlands, and West Lindsey council officers.

Emma Bailey, chair of the council’s Prosperous Communities committee, says:  “We are entering into a huge period of change for the private rented sector and we want to provide as much assistance as possible to landlords and tenants so that they are prepared and ready.

“We know that a lot of landlords and letting agents will already be making plans and we hope we can provide further advice and guidance to make these changes as smooth as possible.”

The event will also outline how West Lindsey council intends to approach its new enforcement responsibilities.
