There’s been huge publicity for botched insulation work under the government’s Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS).
If your rental property was one of the tens of thousands of homes, the National Residential Landlords Association wants to hear from you.
The NRLA says: “If you had insulation work funded by ECO4 or GBIS between April 2022 and January 2025, and the government has contacted you about potential remediation,or if you have contacted [regulator] Ofgem directly because you suspect the work was botched, we would like to hear about your experience.
“We are particularly interested in understanding how the process has worked in practice, including how easy it was to get support, how quickly issues were addressed, and whether remediation has been effective.”
The association says remediation has been slow and it wants to know more about local assistance offered to affected property owners.
It continues: “Your feedback and experience will help us understand how the remediation process is working locally.
“The evidence gathered will help strengthen our engagement with officials on this issue and support our advocacy for faster, more effective remediation for landlords affected by poor insulation work.”
If you are affected and wish to help, email campaigns@nrla.org.uk with the subject line “ECO Remediation”.
