Generation Rent is using the shocking homelessness figures to recruit members at charges of up to £120 a year.
The activist group has started a social media campaign on Elon Musk’s X site saying: “This Christmas, RECORD numbers of children will be experiencing HOMELESSNESS while thousands of families are being evicted through no fault of their own. Become a Generation Rent member and help us END unfair evictions for good.”
There’s a link leading to a series of membership options, the most expensive of which is £10 a month.
And it says that for those undecided, they could make a one-off donation of up to £25.
The group is running a similar campaign on Instagram.
