A course is being hold on March 4 with the support of the National Residential Landlords Association.
The event will focus on damp and mould issues in properties and will cover:
A statement from the council says: “Dampness and condensation are very serious health hazards but is one of the few hazards where both the structural condition of the premises and the tenant’s lifestyle are equally important.
“The private rented sector has the highest incidence of condensation and dampness and is one of the main causes of tenant complaints to councils.
“The event will help advise and educate landlords on the new big changes in legislation regarding damp and mould in properties.”
A spokesperson says: “I would like to encourage landlords across Cumberland to take advantage of this great offer. The knowledge shared throughout the course will help landlords to prevent issues relating to mould, damp and condensation before they occur, and ensure that they are kept up to date surrounding the laws relating to this issue.
“Damp and mould can cause serious health problems, so it’s important that landlords across Cumberland do all they can to protect their tenants.”
